Tell HN: It has come to this – I bought a timed lock box to lock my phone in
- takoid 4y agoWhat do you do if you receive an emergency phone call, for example from an elderly family member or a child?
- puttycat 4y ago1. I am lucky to be in a point in life when I am (still) not anyone's emergency contact. 2. Even if I were, I assume the average person doesn't get many emergency calls per year. The odds of someone needing me during the 5-6 hours when I'm trying to concentrate are very low. 3. Even without the box I would have probably just turned off the phone. (and then turned it on 5 mins later to check some random thing, which is the problem to begin with) 4. If the other person has phone access and can call me, calling 911 is most probably a better idea . 5. At the very worst case, the box can be broken, it will just cost you $60 to get a new one, which is enough to make it not worth it unless for absolute emergencies.
- smoldesu 4y agoWhat's bothering you about your phone so much? Have you tried Do Not Disturb?
- eternityforest 4y agoI assume it's not the phone, it's the phone addiction.
- gregjor 4y agoJust turn it off.
