Self-driving cars (and AGI in general) might not be as close as we thought, but edge cases trip up humans too.
- ozim 4y agoI also don't expect AGI to appear. Current state of AI is still interesting - we can leave edge cases to people and let computation deal with everything in its function range. I might still have to drive through the city because it is too much to deal with - but I would be glad if we have highways restricted for autonomous cars, where I could travel between cities reading a book like I would be in a train but with all convenience of traveling on my time schedule instead of adjusting my schedule with train schedule.
- CrimsonRain 4y agodifference is a human can usually understand they are dealing with an edge case and can try to work-around it or solve it. "AI" just outputs garbage.
