It's interesting, I read these comments as self depreciating; like the author is flagellating themselves for missing the mark they think they ought to be hitting.
I personally say much meaner things to myself when I mess up than I would ever say to anyone else.
A charitable outlook, why not :shruggs
- MegaDeKay 4y agoI read it the same way as you as well. The tone of the whole article was pretty light. Taking a sentence or two as serious and deliberately mean out of the whole thing doesn't add up.
