Mimicking the effect of volcanoes is a catastrophic idea, not just bad, but genocidaly bad. We have managed to survive _a_ climate altering eruption. If the atmosphere is already altered when the next one happens, it will be a literal ice age, no one will survive.
- anecdotal1 4y agoClimate altering eruptions happen all the time and measurably change climate from months to years...
- 0xy 4y agoThe last ice age didn't even make it to southern Europe and the southern part of North America, so given the amount of food production in those areas as well as Australia and South America, it seems pretty plausible that another ice age would barely dent human progress. There would simply be a migration out of Canada, northern USA and northern Europe. Food will still be grown, and people will still survive.
