Tesla owner says he had to cancel Christmas plans because car would not charge
- GleamingGazelle 4y agoIt would be important for Tesla to investigate these reports and take steps to address any underlying issues.
- nomel 4y agoOut of spec reviews just did a video about this: https://youtu.be/i-c8AUeKs5c https://youtu.be/i-c8AUeKs5c He compares the different battery heaters (heat pump vs resistance), depending on the model year, which is probably related here.
- allears 4y agoSounds like a non-story. A car had a problem? I thought that happened all the time. Now if this was happening to lots of cars of the same model, that might mean something. Otherwise, I'd be on Fox News every time I had to take my car to the mechanic.
- josephcsible 4y agoYou're exactly right. ICE vehicles break down all the time. News outlets are only jumping on this "story" because it happened to be a Tesla.
- soganess 4y agoThat is a really strange way of looking at this. From what I can tell, the car wasn't broken, it was operating as expected. It couldn't get the battery warm enough so it didn't charge. If you had replaced that specific Tesla with another one (modulo variations in battery heating technologically) it likely would have behaved the same. The car isn't broken, it is in a fail state.
