Purely curiosity on my part. You mentioned that you didn't get into the tech writing for the money... How does the money compare when you self-published?

  So far, my experience is that it's about the same. Self-publishing, I get about 10x more money per sale, but about 10x fewer sales. It's also about 100x less hassle, though, so definitely worthwhile. Your mileage may, of course, vary.
