I've had exactly the opposite experience switching to Mac from Linux. used to be my cli editors worked with the clipboard, now I have to `M-x shell-command-on-region pbcopy`. I've written a wrapper script for it and bound that but if I have to write lisp to use the clipboard I consider that backsliding.
