Poll: Mac, Windows, or Linux?
Are you a Mac, a Linux, or Windows?
- melling 15y agoShouldn't that be Mac, PC, or Linux?

- bdfh42 15y agoMy vote: Dual boot Windows 7 on a Macbook?
- tankenmate 15y agoWhat is the difference these days? Very soon even "PC" x86 machines will use UEFI like Macs. This poll conflates hardware architectures with operating systems. As a "paraphrase" on HHGTTG, "Mostly useless".
- dextorious 15y ago"""What is the difference these days?""" Huge, as always...
- fractallyte 15y agoThey're all 'PCs'. Possibly you mean: 'Mac, Windows, Linux'. In which case, you're missing out the *BSDs. (And, if you want to go even further, Haiku & Amiga.)
- jstone2004 15y agoNarrow choices.... How about Solaris, MINIX or BSD? (Yes I know, you'll just say UNIX is UNIX, but still.....)
- jemeshsu 15y agoMac. Because with one you can have all three.
- duncan_bayne 15y agoLinux Mint, specifically. My setup is in GitHub at https://github.com/duncan-bayne/mint-setup/ https://github.com/duncan-bayne/mint-setup/ (very much a work in progress still). I'm surprised to see so many HN folks running Macs ... I'd have thought that Apple's antipathy towards hacking & hackers would put people off. But then maybe geeks aren't as immune to fashion as we'd like to think ;-)
