Is there an LED bulb that can produce a CRI of 100? I wonder how things will change with there no longer being incandescent or halogen bulbs, which have a CRI of 100. People might think they're putting on a certain color indoors, either clothes or makeup, only to realize it's different when they're outside in the sun haha!
- rdtwo 4y ago100 no but 90-95 is possible but hard to get. 70-80 is standard for consumer grade stuff
- ahartmetz 4y agoIME (Germany), cheap LED bulbs usually have CRI 80 and you can find a few(!) bulbs with CRI 95 in most shops. The are often of the fake filament type, which usually comes with other good properties such as looking nice and not flickering. But you have lower efficiency, not dimmable, few color temperature options, and medium brightness (~80W incandescent equivalent) at best.
- eimrine 4y agoHow about trying MHL instead of LED? AFAIK 120 Lm/W is not a limit for an arc lamp and CRI 100 is possible.
