- AstixAndBelix 4y agoElectrically powered vechicles have always been touted as futuristic in nature. This in turn has led people to think that if an electric vechicle isn't something from a cyberpunk future with colored leds and autopilot, then they shouldn't bother switching.
- Finnucane 4y agoAnd people are realizing that Musk isn’t a wizard and Tesla is just another car company.
- cactusplant7374 4y agoYou can find the truly devoted on Twitter. Many have put their entire life savings into Tesla. One guy is selling his house to buy the dip. A real estate agent is taking out loans to buy additional shares. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens to the true believers in the next 10 years.
- Finnucane 4y agoOr even a year. The ‘dip’ may be far from over considering that even at this price it’s still a big premium relative to actual earnings.
- ianai 4y agoI think the Leaf actively manages the temperature of the battery pack for peak efficiency. Does anybody else? Hyundai? I’d like to see a world where there just are always plugs available. As ubiquitous as ICE gas stations or even in the strip malls/outside grocery stores. Even more, every parking spot in an apartment complex. Have them be “smart” so people can program in when they need to be ready to go and otherwise offer just a trickle to stave off the worst of freezing temps. Etc. Done well, this could mitigate most or all of the growing pains away from ICE vehicles and infrastructure. Maybe provide a back support for the jobs dependent upon that legacy infrastructure too.
- yuppie_scum 4y agoIncorrect, the Leaf does NOT have active thermal management, which makes it lose capacity faster. Tesla and some of the others do have sophisticated thermal management systems.
- bityard 4y agoAre there any electric cars on the market that don't require a persistent connection to the cloud?
- jacquesm 4y agoGood question. I think that is a major problem with electric vehicles (and modern cars in general). The abuse potential of such data is just too large, as is the invasion of privacy.
