Haven't taken LSD but I have done writing on weed. I think it reduces inhibitions, which has tradeoffs. There's a lot of crap, but there's also a lot more than I'd usually write, and sometimes it's stuff I'd never have written out sober (for good or bad reasons). I'd say it's a worthwhile endeavor on occasion for recreation, and unlikely to help professionally, at least for me.
