CEO of the Boring Company slept at Twitter HQ with his partner and newborn baby
- rurban 4y agoIt's a cult
- Ancalagon 4y agoWhat kind of precedent is this setting the world over, being a leader and allowing these things to happen? I get that this man and his wife must be very dedicated to their jobs, but why not at least give them a relatively cheap hotel room and like a bare-minimum of parental leave? Just absolute nonsense and I hope this isn't becoming normalized.
- yuppie_scum 4y agoNormal people are never going to do this kind of BS.
- greggarious 4y agoThey will as long as the only way to get enough of a nest egg to give a child what it needs to thrive requires tolerating abuse :-)
- Ancalagon 4y agoThere are enough better jobs right now that nobody should need to subject themselves to this in order to secure a nest egg and retirement. This kind of behavior is doing a disservice to society at large.
- greggarious 4y agoI’ve never had two competing offers in my life, I’m saving up for emigration. America is going to soon resemble what’s described in the beginning of V for Vendetta, with less eye candy.

- dragonwriter 4y ago> They will as long as the only way to get enough of a nest egg to give a child what it needs to thrive requires tolerating abuse But, it doesn't, at least not this kind of abuse. Otherwise, Musk's practices at Twitter wouldn't be newsworthy.
- greggarious 4y agoYou don't know what you're talking about. Once a story is reported about big tech, it won't be reported again if the only change would be a different CEO. I've never seen a story about something as large as Twitter where contacts haven't later confirmed the behavior wasn't replicated multiple places in the Valley.
- dragonwriter 4y agoEven if this was true and Twitter under Musk wasn't unusual for Silicon Valley tech firms, Silicon Valley tech firms are not typical of employers generaly, nor does working for one represent a minimum standard of what it takes to “get enough of a nest egg to give a child what it needs to thrive”.
- greggarious 4y ago>Even if this was true and It is, so we can just end this conversation right there.

- cactusplant7374 4y agoI suppose he’s extremely motivated by money. Moving to Twitter from Boring isn’t exactly the same industry.
- rdtwo 4y agoIf I was on that divorce jury I’d give her more than half the stuff
- sourcecodeplz 4y agoSome people sleep on the streets. Shelter and a warm soft bed is not something to take for granted, regardless if it's at the office, at home, at a friends or at a hotel.
