I'm also self-taught from another discipline. I'm a bottom-up learner and have found 'The Elements of Computing Systems' (aka Nand2Teris) compelling and exciting. With the course, you build a computer, completely, from scratch. It's some of the best writing and teaching I have ever experienced. It leaves you with a solid overview of computing and where you can go next with your learning, career, or projects. https://www.nand2tetris.org/ https://www.nand2tetris.org/
