The TSA recently got billions more dollars to search peoples' shoes. I'd say they know exactly what they're doing, and they're very good at it. Follow the money. When a proposal has an abstract/amorphous benefit to everybody, and a direct benefit to a small group, realize that the intentions are to benefit the latter & not the former, no matter what bullshit they try to feed you.
