The inherent misogyny of AI portraits – Amelia Earhart rendered naked on a bed
- aww_dang 4y agoIs nudity hateful?
- sn0w_crash 4y agoIf you think you are less attractive than the subject of the nudity then yes, it’s hateful. In fact everything is hateful if you can write a 1,000 word post about why it’s hateful.
- jelliclesfarm 4y agoObjectifying close to half of the humanity as a sexual object and erasing every other identity marker is hateful..yes.
- jelliclesfarm 4y agoIs the only correct response to this query..a ‘NO’? Is that hateful?
- mindcrime 4y agoHonestly, my first thought on seeing this headline, and the first couple of sentences of the article was "Well sexist, yes... but misogynist?" or something along those lines. I've always taken "misogyny" to mean something like "hatred (or intense dislike) of women." If that were the case, misogyny would seem to be a bit off. But... I got interested and decided to look up the dictionary definition to see if there was something I was missing. That yielded: mi·sog·y·ny /məˈsäjənē/ noun: misogyny - dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women. So, "dislike of" and "contempt for" don't really seem to apply. But I guess ingrained prejudice might if you equate sexualization as "prejudice against." I'm not convinced that is a valid position, but I can see a plausible path to somebody holding that position at least." So yeah, I can definitely see how this could be interpreted as offensive, sexist, etc. I'm still less than convinced on the "misogynist" bit, but OK. Besides, as a guy I'm probably not allowed to have an opinion and now I'll be accused of "mansplaining" or whatever.
