Linux Mint 21.1: The better-than-ever Linux desktop
- entropicdrifter 4y agoI've been using Mint for the past year, just updated to 21.1 yesterday. It's running smooth as butter, nothing broke in the upgrade and it's great to have my flatpaks updating through the GUI update tool. Really feels like a feature-complete desktop with a genuinely cohesive UX.
- bennysonething 4y agoI've tried over 16 years to try to move from windows to Linux (mostly mint, think I first installed it from a Linux format magazine or some Linux mag disk) . I always end up giving up, windows backward compatible with software and hardware is just so good. I can't be arsed with messing about with conf files anymore. Also if I get time to play games they mostly are old and come from gog.com. Mint is amazing, but I've given up.
- DoktorDelta 4y agoA lot has changed in the last few years with Proton, but there's definitely still gaps that might be deal-breakers
- brnt 4y agoIt's a while ago now, but Mint had some security (policy) issues in the past, and a lead maintainer who didn't seem to take that sort of thing very seriously. Has this changed?
