Welcome to the First Ever McDonald's Where You're Served by Robots–In Texas
- josephcsible 4y ago> "This will put so many people out of work," said another commenter. No it won't. The entire point of this thing is that the jobs it's replacing are ones that they can't get any workers to fill. There's a reason this is only happening now and not back in 2019.
- tluyben2 4y agoIf robots were cheap enough, you don’t think they would remove most humans? It is a question for your opinion, not a statement. I don’t know; I hardly ever go to these kind of places, I don’t live in the US. The times I have been (in the US mostly), I can’t say I would’ve missed the human interaction like I would’ve in a nice restaurant. Is it the price of robots vs humans or will they always have humans no matter how cheap robots will get?
- Doxin 4y agoit's replacing are ones that they can't get any workers to fill for the salary they are willing to pay. Labor shortages are pretty much always just salary shortages.
- jelliclesfarm 4y agoI have been reading various reactions around the net and some of them are bewildering. The main complaint seems to be that this will cut jobs and that gains aren’t redistributed. It’s mind boggling because automation isn’t free. There are people working to create that automation and the software. We are eliminating low paying minimum wage jobs. We are educating young people and providing them skills that are more technical. Yes, someone who needs the minimum wage job isn’t going to be working at their low paying job..but we take care of them separately. Luddite Pearl clutching achieves nothing. It won’t slow down progress. And automation.
