Show HN: My bookmarks of HN and who I'm following
- NicoJuicy 4y agoI'm probably going to be hugged to death on my VPS but here we go. I have a dogfooded bookmarking service ( think HN with tags and a personal mode (= See all items you've upvoted or added)) which can also track RSS. I once added some people from Cloudflare on it and forgot about it till today. Fyi, https://hnrss.org/user?id={username} https://hnrss.org/user?id={username} is how comments of certain authors are crawled.
- NicoJuicy 4y agoShould be better. Added an improved query on the domain and limited the results to the last 6 months.
- JSavageOne 4y agoInteresting. How are tags determined?
- NicoJuicy 4y agoManual, RSS has "categories" or exact match be of any active tag on the title of a submission of a RSS feed ( with some tweaking for spaced tags) I was thinking about a tag prediction engine. But this seems to be good enough for now. I can also add tags for specific RSS feeds. Eg. A c# feed would get dotnet. Tags are't curated. Tags can be shown or hidden.
- DarkContinent 4y agoI'm not able to see the page due to a 'No Russians--Slava Ukraini' error.
- NicoJuicy 4y agoHad a lot of spammers with Russian language. Implemented expanding xml-bombs, Google Captcha, hidden input fields and a couple of other things against bots. But the block on the russian language was most effective ( and since I was dogfooding it, I didn't see the harm at the time. But it's out of scope at this very moment, yes). Disabled it.
- cookiengineer 4y agoCan also recommend a gzip bomb (transfer encoding+content encoding, so 40GB+ easily possible). Works for most skiddies.
