- withinboredom 4y agoIt’d be awesome if you could normalize the prices somewhat. The bottom $4 is vastly more powerful than the free one at the top. Find a common denominator of memory/cpu and calculate the prices. Obviously, this is meaningless for “free” You have signal transmitter in there twice. But for example, if you calculate “cost for 2gb ram” (since memory is the difference between most of these): Scaleway: $0.80? Server factory: $1.00? Vultr: $10.00 AWS: $12.28 Hetzner: $4.00 You could do the math for two cores as well, but usually ram is the deciding factor on what you can run before you start swapping, which drastically impacts performance.
- miyuru 4y agoAuthor here. The prices are the cheapest that is offered. Some providers offer only one option, so finding a common denominator is useless. The main point of the post is to find the cheapest IPv6 only server. Choosing one that fit the user it up to the user. > You have signal transmitter in there twice. Its for 2 options LXC and KVM. I added LXC keyword where possible. If the keyword is not there it will be KVM one.
