or you know people who have gas and bought their house with a perfectly adequate gas stove. It has never failed me. I guess I'm a poser though because I don't want to spend $1500 on a new induction stove. Not everyone uses a wok; I'd be willing to bet that 90% of households here in the USA don't even have a wok.
- elmerfud 4y agoIt's like you read my comment but didn't read the article thus are missing important context on what comment was saying. There's a reason builders and remodelers choose to put gas appliances into homes. It's exactly for the posers. It increases profits. So while you personally may not have made that specific selection it was made with the idea of what sells best in mind not what is best for cooking at this price level. So of course if you ignore the entire environmental factors and the home air quality factors that come along with gas and the fact that no residential kitchen exhaust system is designed to deal with those then I guess it's perfectly adequate on the same scale as breathing in second hand smoke is. As for the wok thing that only came up because it is specifically mentioned in the article. And my point was it was a silly thing to bring up because, I don't know that I buy your 90% argument people have lots of kitchen utensils here but, almost nobody will have a real wok burner in their house. Those that do have them probably aren't in their house due to the massive heat output. Instead they use them outside similar to how people use grills and hibachis.
