Probably very few can guarantee that much.
But bondsmen don't have to just cut you loose with zero oversight. For a small slice of the $25m they can hire a team to follow him around 24/7. I assume they also put him in a ankle tracker and have him checking in on a strict schedule. All of this cuts into their profit so it's only as risky as they are cheap about monitoring him.
- ncallaway 4y agoWhat recourse would a bail bond company have if they monitored him fleeing? Can they physically detain him? Or just report to the authorities?
- throwaheyy 4y agoThey are legally allowed to detain the defendant. > If the defendant fails to appear in court, the bond agent is allowed by law or contractual arrangement to bring the defendant to the jurisdiction of the court in order to recover the money paid out under the bond, usually through the use of a bounty hunter. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bail_bondsman https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bail_bondsman
- haneefmubarak 4y agoNot only can they detain him, if he missed court, they can quite literally hire bounty hunters to track him down and bring him to the court so that they can get the money back.
- lokar 4y agoWho, in some cases can break into YOUR house if they think he is hiding there
- CamperBob2 4y agoAwesome. Feed this thread to GPT3 as a prompt and you'll get a Tarantino script or an Elmore Leonard novel.
