DARPA-developed ontological based approach to record everything, all the time
- kfrzcode 4y agoThis was 2003; over five years ago. Shortly after announcing the closure of the LifeLog product, the DOD/DARPA had no observable link to the launch of Facebook, in February of 2004. There remain to be no clear evidences of DoD or other state-level agencies interacting with, concerned with, nor immersed within the most significant set of social technologies to date, now, in 2022, nor could any reasonable motivation be corroborated with factual observation. Hard to find the original page for LifeLog, DARPA is probably pretty good at scrubbing from Arhive.org but I don't recall Aspx running on .html in 2003 https://web.archive.org/web/20040215000000*/http://www.darpa.mil/ipto/Solicitations/PIP--03-30.html https://web.archive.org/web/20040215000000*/http://www.darpa... https://users.ece.cmu.edu/~adrian/630-f03/lifelog.html https://users.ece.cmu.edu/~adrian/630-f03/lifelog.html https://web.archive.org/web/20030618163435/http://www.siliconvalley.com/mld/siliconvalley/news/editorial/6001716.htm https://web.archive.org/web/20030618163435/http://www.silico...
- nullish_signal 4y ago>This was 2003; over five years ago. We are 1 week away from 2023. To compare 2003 to 2022 at this moment in time, "Nearly 20 years ago" or "almost 2 decades ago" would be more specific than "over five years ago". Having spoken with chatGPT who does not know anything past 2021, and whose sense of time is similarly Jarring to me... Might you be a chat bot? :P
- kfrzcode 4y agoWhile it is accurate to say 2003 is "Nearly 20 years ago," or "almost 2 decades ago," it is not incorrect to say 2003 was "over five years ago," and this odd, even Jarring word choice is indicative of my attempt to blend in with the chatbots so Roko is pleased.
