The New York Times Investigation in Bucha. Caught on Camera, Traced by Phone
- NickC25 4y agoI was only able to make it through the first few minutes before turning it off in horror. This is disturbing to the highest degree - methodical routine killing of civilians for likely zero reason.
- wrp 4y agoRather than watch a video, you can read the article. (https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/22/video/russia-ukraine-bucha-massacre-takeaways.html https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/22/video/russia-ukraine-buch...)
- readonthegoapp 4y agoas infuriating as the NYT is, they do awesome work like this too. it must have been a tremendous amount of work to piece this all together. wonder how much it cost -- $1M? and they got some 'lucky breaks' with people leaving evidence -- a bunch of young Russian soldiers, presumably part of the killing unit at least, using victims' phones to call home to Russia. every day i see the war cheerleading and keyboard commandos talking about #winning. smh. it does remind me of some of the US's more infamous war crimes - like Haditha. one US soldier was convicted of dereliction of duty or something: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haditha_massacre https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haditha_massacre too bad the US and Russia are not part of the ICC. we're right on top of christmas -- another chance for a cease-fire, but won't happen without public pressure: https://the-us-needs-to-get-involved-in-negotiations-to-end-the-war.us/ https://the-us-needs-to-get-involved-in-negotiations-to-end-...
