It’s an interesting question, because one of the key arguments that Apple fans make against sideloading is that without sideloading, it is difficult/impossible for a hostile government to force you to install tracking apps onto your phone at the border. Perhaps that’s why they’re seemingly not pressuring Android to crack down on sideloading.
