Maybe you'll find the paper I wrote describing unyt (https://joss.theoj.org/papers/10.21105/joss.00809 https://joss.theoj.org/papers/10.21105/joss.00809) useful? unyt doesn't have type annotations so if you need that then it's not a good fit.
