Notes is one of my favourite apps on iOS. I just realised recently I could drag-and-drop recordings from Voice Memos right inline into a note on iPad and it synced everywhere, with playback controls right under my text
It also looks nice, syncs and collaborates well. I have everything from my shopping lists, to scans of all my kids' artwork, to design documents for coding projects
I have to use OneNote at work and it is abysmal. It is plain how little care and love appears to go into that product
- smoldesu 4y agoWhat's your gripe with OneNote? I used it a few years ago and remember enjoying it much more than Apple Notes, especially on desktop.
- kyawzazaw 4y agoit somehow doesn't even ink to text on my iPad
- smoldesu 4y agoIt did on my Surface, for what that's worth.
- PascLeRasc 4y agoTyping latency is measured in the tens of seconds.
- szdva 4y agoMust be using the same GUI framework that they use for Office apps on Windows ;-)
- Tagbert 4y agoI haven’t seen any such sluggishness. The only area where OneNote (MacOS) is slow is in syncing to other devices where it can take a minute or two to bring changes to another device. I rarely switch devices within a session so that doesn’t bother me. Which OS are you using for OneNote?
- joshspankit 4y agoYou’d hate the Tangerine (bank) website. Each letter typed does a round-trip to the server, and each text box gets progressively slower the more put in it. (Not just trauma-dumping. Saying this here to say there might be a common tech problem that we can expose)
- mwlp 4y agoI can't name a single meaningful new feature that was added to OneNote in the past 8 years.
- pqs 4y agoAs far as I understood, they will soon add Loop components. That will introduce a tone of new features soon.
