I’d like to see federated platforms do to Social media companies, what streaming has done to the entertainment industry. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter are nothing more than ML driven data collectors at this point. Obviously content is king, the average user wants their Instagram stars or whatever, they aren’t concerned with politics. But I’m optimistic to a major schism in ALL these mediocre platforms. I want to see more corporations hosting their own, Chik Fil A, BestBuy, anything to break the tide.
