Sharing your Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+ password could make you a criminal
- rolph 4y agoi know its not advisable, but if a common password is used, is it "the netflix password" or is it the password for everything. regardless, i think sharing access is the ultimate problem, password is a proximal description, but having a common passwrd string for all, shared to someone, so they can use email, or sign in... i dont think netflix could call it thier password, if its for everything, but it would be access to thier service
- stuartd 4y agoThe actual source of this - TorrentFreak [0], linked in the article - has an update: > Update December 20, 2022: > During the past few hours the Intellectual Property Office edited its advice. The announcement page no longer references password sharing in any way. - stjohnswarts 4y agoTalk about government overreach, holy cow! This is a problem that streamers can easily solve without turning teenagers into criminals. jeesh.
- than3 4y agoNo, its not about solving a problem like piracy, its about creating so many hoops that no one can ever possibly follow, that you can then apply arbitrarily to anyone you want, so you can control their every action, or more likely bury anyone you don't like. Its about imposing control without you noticing, the distraction is that its about trade (business).
