- Alifatisk 4y agoYou can install 7zip with zstandard!
- out_of_protocol 4y agoOverall good thing! except * standard 7z does not support zstandard * 7z file extension does not explain what's inside, so if you hand .7z file with zstd inside to someone, that person will blame you for unopenable archive well if only we could rebrand 7z-with-zstd as some new format, e.g. .zstd (no changes required) ...
- Alifatisk 4y agoI was thinking of https://community.chocolatey.org/packages/7zip-zstd/1.4.9.20 https://community.chocolatey.org/packages/7zip-zstd/1.4.9.20
- theandrewbailey 4y agoYou can use zstd in 7z files with Peazip: https://peazip.github.io/ https://peazip.github.io/
- out_of_protocol 4y agoRebrand "zstd in 7z" as separate format with separate extension and new format is born
