I think car mechanics are the perfect analogy. Most of the ones I know have rather boring daily drivers because they value reliability and don’t always want to be tinkering. They do have very interesting project vehicles though. You’re quite condescending and smug. Maybe you should try to understand why other people might have different priorities than you instead of being judgmental, seeking to understand is generally a good skill.
