Aleister Crowley's Occult Duel with WB Yeats
- serverlessmom 4y agoCrowley knew a lot of magic but Yeats new his one weakness: getting kicked down a flight of stairs.
- jelliclesfarm 4y agoThis is a very shallow understanding of Crowley’s occultism. He truly understood the battle between free will and true will…the nature of man vs nature of the universal consciousness. I see shades of Vedanta in his Thelema. I can also see and understand how the Abrahamic western world can view that as ‘black magic’. The British colonisers always viewed pantheistic Indian religion as ‘demonic’. Crowley..imo..was more a brilliant and deep thinking religious philosopher than a ‘black magician’ or occultist.
