Do people have that cash lying around, what guarantee would you have that people would pay? Maybe you can take the deed to the house that you saved?

- jefftk 4y agoSeems like the agreement could be backed with the threat of a lien on your property.
- triceratops 4y agoThe property that just burned down?
- michaelt 4y agoThe fire brigade would borrow the technique of Marcus Licinius Crassus and buy your property as it burned, improve its value by extinguishing the fire, then rent it back to you.

- jefftk 4y agoIf the firefighters can't keep it from burning to the ground, I doubt you want to be paying for them to do anything. Even then, there's still the value of the land.
- s0rce 4y agoPresumably they would save it by extinguishing the fire then if you can't pay the cost of the service they take the property or place a lien on it.
- ddalex 4y agoHold on there Crassus.
- modderation 4y agoIf they do have that cash laying around, hopefully it's not stored on-premises.
