Structured education typically relies on an ability to assess student improvement, so 3rd graders don't get a calculator when they take a multiplications table test, even though we'd all use one at our desk at work. I would surmise that likewise there is value to students learning to read, analyze, and report insight about a text, to attempt to identify symbolism and patterns, to communicate their ideas effectively, and to be assessed about that - even if by the time they're in the workforce they'll usually just ask an AI to do it.
