Elon Musk Is Fucking Up Twitter But The Government Should Not Get Involved
- fullshark 4y agoI don't know the laws re: the Digital Services Act but I don't think this guy does either. Also someone was speculating that since Musk had a tweet saying Twitter is a publisher, it arguably is no longer governed by section 230 which has massive ramifications in America. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1604588904828600320 https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1604588904828600320 Add to this the fact that twitter data security is possibly a national security risk to countries all over the world, and I'm unconvinced. Twitter is a global media company and needs to follow laws all over the planet as a result, Musk and Twitter can't just act like hackers coding up fun internet services in their garage anymore.
- Zigurd 4y agoGovernments, plural, are already involved because Elon has no self control and violates regulations capriciously. He is running a multinational company with no compliance checks on impulsive policy changes.
