Show HN: Tunll – secure tunnels to localhost for all developers
With Tunll you can easily serve local HTTP(S) and TCP apps on the public internet. Build webhooks, share in-progress work, tunnel into Docker and Kubernetes containers, access IoT devices in the field, and more.
Single binary for all OS includes both the agent and the optional self-hosted server.
$ tunll http 8080
$ tunll tcp 22
- kurtig 4y agoHello, I'm Kurt I. Gronbech, developer of Tunll. Inspired by ngrok. The tunll binary includes both the agent and the server for those who have a need to run their own self-hosted server. Tunll has been created with C# and .NET 7 and works on Windows, Mac OS and Linux. I'm also working on Codemander, an online development platform, and tunll sprung out from that.
- PLG88 4y agoNice. How is it better/worse/different to Ngrok?
- kurtig 4y agoNgrok is great and has been in development for many years so it's definitely not better than ngrok at this point. Tunll has got less functionality overall, but it's got most of the basics covered in this preview version. It's different in that the single binary includes both the agent and the server and can be run as either. Some people may want that. Tunll is new and can be molded into anything from this point based on feedback. Both with regards to functionality and future subscription models. I'm all ears for anything. Even potential open sourcing is not out of the question, but not likely for the time being.
