I picked up Nioh a little while ago as it was on the Epic Store for free. I only gave it a few minutes as I got frustrated by the PC controls. I think it was literally prompting me to hit PS4 controller buttons, and I was mashing different keys to see which it wanted. I'm dipping my toes into that sort of game (I know it's not exactly the same, but I'm starting to warm to Souls-type games) and I know Nioh is highly regarded so I'll no doubt give it another shot!

Might work with a controller but they're definitely more playable on the platform they were made for. One major disappointment along these lines was Bioshock Infinite. I thought it's a PC game because 1 and 2 were PC games. I simply couldn't play it with a keyboard/mouse. Finished it later when I got the playstation version. Incidentally this Nioh takes a part of the Soulsborne formula but it keeps the Team Ninja (of Ninja Gaiden fame) difficulty. Soulsbornes don't hold a candle to how hard this can be :)
- smcl 4y agoHa nice, well it was free on PC so I guess at least I didn't lose any money trying it out there. I just recently picked up a PS5 and it seems both Nioh titles are available there, so once I've made my way thru Demons Souls remake I'll potentially give it a go :D
- nottorp 4y agoThe Nioh remastered collection for the PS5 on disc is getting cheap. That's how I got both, only last month :) Of course, right after my package arrived Nioh 1 went free on psplus for the month. But the collector in me is whispering that I make the right decision when i get (cheap) discs.
