Otherwise, he did a thing, was told not to do a thing, then went ahead and did it anyways and had the book thrown at him. That was his choice, not some stroke of bad luck.
- scrubs 4y agoHuh? That's not elucidating anything; it's not even a cursory summary. Big dogs eat little dogs isn't help. Let's start here: what's legal isn't always ethical and vice versa. Second, when legal vs ethical goes sideways, the state has force. Individual's don't. That's important too. Finally what about fear as a basic component of human nature. I'll leave it this way. Firefly the TV series played this up nice: - escorts + paid sex was legal even a status card - theft wasn't esp against the "man" Mal wasn't having any of that because law enforcer wasn't legit as he saw it. Now what?

- rosywoozlechan 4y agoHe stood up against censorship, seems laudable and deserves more in my estimation than an attitude of "well that's what you get"

- JoeAltmaier 4y ago...during wartime. The rules change a bit then. He knew that. I have little regard for those kind of heroics - self-aggrandizing and counterproductive.
