I understand your point. But it has never bothered me (so far) because I've never posted anything on Facebook that I want private. I do things there with the full expectation that someone will be able to see it if they really want to. I also treat Dropbox the same way. That said, I've also been toying with the idea of removing my FB account - just because I'm bored with it.
