German court rules Twitter has to remove offensive posts before they’re reported
- Am4TIfIsER0ppos 4y agoWhy doesn't germany just arrest people before they commit an offense?
- themitigating 4y agoIn your example Germany is twitter The offensive post is the criminal/crime What you mean is "why doesn't Germany arrest people before someone reports a crime" not before it's committed. So what you're saying doesn't make sense because Germany investigates crimes, arrests people for them, etc even if someone doesn't report it
- nullish_signal 4y agoWhy doesn't the EU just block Twitter before any more Germans take Offense? It's a US company, they can Eat Dirt.
- nitwit005 4y agoDo a Google search for "twitter subsidiaries". They have a heap of overseas subsidiaries to do business abroad, which unsurprisingly, have to work within local law.
- woojoo666 4y agoIn case people are wondering how Twitter would know something is offensive before it's reported: > the ruling that Twitter has a duty not only to remove the illegal content that is reported, but also to track down fundamentally similar content anywhere on the platform, from any account, and ensure that it ceases So I guess we just trust that Twitter's "similarity" ranking is infallible
