Count me as one of the people who far prefer self-checkout to regular checkout. As someone who isn't normally buying huge quantities of groceries at once, it is far quicker for me - my grocery store has about 12 kiosks, which means there is always a few available. My grocery also seems to not perceive theft as a major issue, as they actually eliminated the weight-control features on the kiosks in favour of smaller ones that eliminate them. This also makes the customer experience much better. Finally, I don't have to go through a ritualistic interaction with the cashier. It's not that I found it a negative experience in the past, but I far prefer avoiding it entirely.
