- operatingthetan 4y agoRight, what are the metrics, and are they perhaps less accurate in a remote-first work environment? A lot of times these metrics are designed to increase productivity as a lever and shouldn't be trusted. Without that conversation this article reads like 'person with easy job complains about subordinates also having easy jobs.'
- throwawaysleep 4y agoLayoffs can crash productivity. One of my jobs had layoffs, so basically everyone is just awaiting bonus/vesting and then planning to bolt. They fired 20% and turned 80% into people not planning to be there long after April.
