Elon Musk’s Twitter Suspends Accounts of Several Journalists
- ttul 4y ago‘Mr. Musk tweeted last month: “My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk.” On Wednesday, though, he equated the practice to doxxing, or the publishing of private information online with malicious intent, tweet-ing: “Real-time posting of someone else’s location violates doxxing policy, but delayed posting of locations are ok.”’
- ttul 4y agoMastodon link posting also appears to be blocked. I mean, perhaps it’s time to deactivate the Twitter account and head on over to Mastodon.
- PartiallyTyped 4y agoFYI, Mastodon's official twitter account was banned without any violation of any apparently made up rules.
- cldellow 4y agoThe @joinmastodon account had posted a tweet that linked to the ElonJet account's new home on mastodon.social. Banning them for that seems aggressive (vs: blocking/removing that tweet), but it's at least consistent. Banning all links to any Mastodon server is pretty indefensible, though.

In other cases, twitter accounts were only suspended temporarily, and given that there was nothing about that in the TOS, and Musk updated it post-facto says that they should have never been banned in the first place, the tweets should have been deleted, and that's it.
