Trump, Musk and Kanye Are Twitter Poisoned
- anigbrowl 4y agoGood thing I'm immune to dopamine addiction. How sorry I feel for those who are the slaves of their own cognitive shortcomings!
- TotoHorner 4y agoGave you an upvote to prove how immune you are to dopamine spikes.
- anigbrowl 4y agoI've really got the hang of riding this tiger.
- Trouble_007 4y ago>I believe “Twitter poisoning” is a real thing. Good People Poisoned? - Or Poison People unmasked? I didn't see any mention of “Substance poisoning” in this article.
- warning26 4y agoI mean, that’s kind of a given that substance poisoning exists. Or are you implying that those three are just doing way too much cocaine? (I mean, I wouldn’t rule it out)
- Trouble_007 4y agoNot implying, merely wondering why the author would not have proffered that possibility as well.
- warning26 4y ago> I believe “Twitter poisoning” is a real thing. It is a side effect that appears when people are acting under an algorithmic system that is designed to engage them to the max. It’s a symptom of being part of a behavior-modification scheme. At the very least, I think social media should be legally mandated to provide a chronological feed. I’d argue rules should go further and ban algorithmic feeds outright, though I’m not sure how such a ban could work in practice. Amusingly, I remember Musk himself was talking about open sourcing Twitter’s feed algorithm and other such aspirational goals. How times have changed!
- oneeyedpigeon 4y agoI wouldn't mind an algorithmic feed, provided that I a) am given a list of the factors the algorithm takes into account b) ideally, am able to tweak the algorithm myself. Failing that, I'm just getting a stream of stuff for some reason I'm not aware of, and a chronological feed would be far preferable.
- gsatic 4y agoSignalling has to improve. Like/Upvote/Follower counts need to get broken down more so people dont get addicted to random numbers. For example Slashdot comments dont just show upvote count. The comments get tagged as Offtopic ,Flamebait,Troll,Redundant,Insightful,Interesting,Informative,Funny,Overrated,Underrated etc This is much more useful signalling not just to the poster but to the whole chimp troupe. That kind of stuff needs to catch on and be experimented with on the bigger Networks.
