I ran into something like this recently. I have multiple dental implants and had a problem with one of the crowns. The dentist ended up removing the crown and when they went to make an adjustment to the abutment realized that they didn’t have the tool they needed at their office because they moved away from using that implant system. They have another office and knew they had the tool there, and ended up having me come in at a later date when they could be certain to have the tool available.
This makes me wonder what happens if the implant maker goes bust and/or nobody is left locally that uses that system and can fix issues that come up.
- newusertoday 4y agowhat are they using now instead of implant system? i thought its standard.
- subharmonicon 4y agoWhen I say “implant system” I mean a particular brand with a particular design. My periodontist and dentist favored one system 12 years ago but after more experience with it decided to give another implant system a try and now use that exclusively.
