My view of things…
I’ve been seeing angel and seed valuations still at $7+ million with no real revenue. But we’re not investing at those valuations. There are going to be down rounds for those that invested in 2020-21, and the appetite now is definitely sub-$5 million for angel and seed rounds for companies with little or no revenue. SAFE’s aren’t that interesting in the current market, so convertible notes are back in style. The projections that were being made 2 years ago for exits at 6x on revenue in 3-5 years aren’t panning out, and the Series A-B-C+ VC’s know it. But advisors still seem to be peddling that strategy to entrepreneurs. In general, things are very slow right now, and it will likely be that way for awhile given the economic changes that are coming and the rapid changes in technology, e.g. AI, affecting markets from top to bottom.
