An emergency situation during a vertical landing of an F-35B Lightning II
- djohnston 4y agoI'm not judging the pilot, but I'm curious why they ejected. It seemed like they finally got it upright and moving slowly on the grass. Ejecting has risks too, assuming the breaks were still working would it have been safer to stop and shut down?
- Doxin 4y agoI can only imagine either the gas lever broke off, leaving him unable to stop the jet, or the jet itself had some sort of malfunction and decided to eject the pilot. Mind that these vertical takeoffs take a lot of computer control just to keep the jet balanced. Either that or incompetence, but I like to think people are on average competent at what they do for a living.
