I'd love to believe that many of the manipulators in this space are just semi-regular joes who don't understand the fundamentals, but get caught up in the hype, and so don't realize they've drifted into illegal activity. Normal people have doubts, but also get greedy and rationalize away the gambling. This is something different altogether. It's comic book super-villainy. People like this scare me. Private groups of straight up sociopaths working with other sociopaths. Great. Technology enabling these cancers to privately band together to steal from the rest of us.
