Do you feel the same way about real life locations? Exhibitions? Galleries? Obviously nobody is saying "VR is the same as real life" but surely to some degree it's the content of the experience that determines whether something is interesting. Some locations would be fascinating to walk around even if there's technically "nothing to do". I'm not much of a gamer so my interest in VR has always slanted towards towards the more passive experiences. In fact quite often don't want my enjoyment spoiled by having to complete tasks or solve puzzles just to get around.
