Apple Is Now Bigger Than Google, Amazon, Tesla, and Walmart Combined
- rtev 4y agoWith all this App Store monopoly talk and pressure to open up, I think Apple will take a hit too. With that said, I think they deserve to be valued higher than most of these companies; Apple seems to have stronger product offerings and customer experience.
- reb 4y agoApple’s been earning my money for a long time, but I will say: some of my favorite things about their products have seemed less reliable in recent years. I used to love how painless Handoff was, and how easy it was to switch AirPods from one device to the next. Both are finicky and slow now, and I hear the same from other people I know (unprompted anecdata).

- zucked 4y agoThey've expanded their areas of product focus - I agree that as they've done that, some of their refinement has slipped. They're not bad by any stretch, but some of that "it just works" magic is looking a little threadbare these days.
- waboremo 4y agoApple will take a hit, but they will still come out on top there's no way they don't since they have a massive advantage even with the most drastic of proposed anti-monopoly talks. Unless they have foolish short term thinking and make careless restructuring mistakes in attempts to maintain the "old way", and judging by some of the board and their public comments... that might be a real concern.
- ksec 4y agoI read the headline and I thought something doesn't add up. Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN). 896.78B Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL). 1.18T Walmart Inc. (WMT) 388.285B Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) 498.83B Apple Inc. (AAPL) 2.197T Might be worth including Microsoft here Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) 1.856T
- andsoitis 4y agoTerrible headline. I couldn’t find anywhere in the article how they measure “size”. The conventional way is market cap, and in that light Apple isn’t bigger than all those companies combined, is it?

- Ancalagon 4y agoHonestly Apple's product line is so bulletproof, they deserve this valuation.
- smoldesu 4y agoI might agree if their arbitrary App Store tax wasn't starting to eclipse their hardware profits.
- up2isomorphism 4y agoSince you have to replace it with every 3 years so it is hard to see it breaks down.
- Ancalagon 4y agoEvery piece of apple hardware I own is ~3 years old. They all run very well: 2017 macbook air early 2020 Iphone SE 2 2016 thunderbolt display With the exception of the iphone, the other equipment was all second-hand. This in contrast to a Toshiba and Dell I had as laptops prior to getting a mac which both became useless in 4 years.
- Spooky23 4y agoThe only thing I replace is the phone. iPads and Macs I generally roll with for 5-6 years.
