It's very clear that burning fossil fuels is the right move unless there's some catastrophic outcome associated with climate change. This is because economic progress compounds. A small GDP gain now will be huge in a century. I doubt there will be a catastrophe associated with climate change. I could be wrong. Since we're not going to stop emitting carbon we'll find out.
